ASTM P91 is a low carbon version alloy when compared to other P grades alloys. In general, alloy pipes contain more immense proportions than regular carbon steel pipes, with alloying elements such as molybdenum, chromium, and nickel. Low-alloy steel, according to ASTM. However, adding a higher proportion of alloying elements (nickel and chromium) to the steels transforms them into higher alloy steels, such as Hastelloy, monel, and Inconel.
